My Summer Diet: Week 3: The Results

I am so much closer to my over all goal this week! This week I lost 3.5 pounds from doing interval changing workouts and eating relatively healthier. I'm not there yet, and I'm not giving up! 4.5 more pounds to go! Send me some fitness challenges, I need motivation this week! :)

Here's a funny picture of me in Peru to enjoy as you think of how you can challenge me!
Ready for anything!

  1. Whoa now, lookin pretty fierce Andrea! :) As far as challenges are concerned, what say you on trail running? I'm just getting into running myself, but running along roads is blah, especially since I ride a road bike anyway. However, trail running is pretty darn neat. Woods are cool, literally, shade is my friend, but just being in the woods and nature and seeing animals while passing through is quite wonderful. I tend to acquire shin splints easily so I'm aiming for doing more of a barefoot style of motion, so I can't go far, but with such lightweight shoes on, I feel agile and kinda like an indian running barefoot in a land with no civilization. Maybe by the time winter rolls around I'll be running in moccasins! Haha, but seriously, I hope there are some good trails close to where you live.

Also Summit is doing Serve RDU this week, so doing work projects could also count as working out. If your church doesn't do something like that, I'm sure just getting a group of your friends and doing something like habitat for humanity would burn some calories swinging hammers, mixing concrete, lifting timber, dying in the summer heat, etc.

And last but not least, I have a healthy food suggestion which you're probably already familiar with. Kimchi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kimchi. I have a friend that came back from teaching English in South Korea that introduced me to this and it's darn delish and healthy too! Probiotics, low calorie, vitamins, fiber, it's loaded. I got some from an Asian market, so I'm not sure if it's available in regular grocery stores, it probably is, but if it's not, it still might be worth going on an adventure to find.

Glad you had a good week (VBGB looks awesome and somewhat similar to Big Boss in Raleigh) and best wishes this week fighting the good fight and resisting temptation, be it food or even more important things.
